Care Guide
At RG, we hand craft simple yet timeless heirlooms. While our materials are made from high quality materials, it's always important to wear each piece with care to ensure lasting quality. We outlined below the different materials that we offer and the best practices to wear and care for your pieces.
WEAR WITH CARE
- The more diligently you care for your jewelry, the longer it will endure.
- Remove your jewelry before participating in any activities that might risk damaging your pieces
Material Care
STERLING SILVER
STERLING SILVER
Our Sterling Silver is .925 silver which is high quality and the industry standard. To prevent your sterling silver from tarnishing, it's best to keep it away from harsh chemicals, keep it dry, always store it correctly in an air tight sealed bag or container, and clean and polish when needed. Sterling Silver can oxidize easily when not stored correctly, so it's important when you aren't wearing it to store it correctly. We recommend taking it off when washing your hands or swimming, and keep it in an air tight bag or box when you're not wearing it.
freshwater pearls
To take care of your pearl jewelry, gently clean each pearl using a soft, microfiber jewelry cloth to remove surface debri that can accumulate when you wear it. You should do this when you take off your pearl jewelry and before storing it. While Pearls are ok to get wet, most of our pearl necklaces and bracelets are made using a high quality, thick nylon string. Due to this, we recommend not swimming or showering with your necklace or bracelet on as over time, it can stretch the nylon string out.

14k gold filled
14K GOLD FILLED
As long as gold filled pieces are well cared for, they can last a lifetime and won't tarnish. While you can swim and shower with your gold filled jewelry on, we do recommend not wearing it in chlorine, or using harsh chemicals on it like tanning lotion, harsh shampoos, etc.
To clean your gold filled jewelry, we recommend using our RG Jewelry Cleaner, or a polishing cloth.
genuine emerald jewelry
Emeralds, despite their hardness, are not particularly tough and can be brittle, especially when they have inclusions. Historically noted for their imperfections, emeralds are susceptible to damage. It's important to protect your emeralds from sudden shocks, such as physical impacts. With that said, we recommend removing your emerald jewelry before any strenuous activity like working out, lifting heavy items, or doing the dishes.
Using warm, soapy water coupled with gentle scrubbing is the safest way to clean emeralds.

14k solid gold
14k solid gold
With proper care, 14k solid gold can last forever. Renowned for its durability, gold is one of the most enduring materials for fine jewelry. Even with an active lifestyle, solid gold can withstand most conditions while maintaining its beloved warmth and color.
Keeping your gold in dry airtight containers can help protect it, and it's important to not store it with sterling silver or other metals.
Clean your 14k gold with our RG Jewelry Cleaner, or shine it up with a polishing cloth.
Diamond Jewelry
Diamond is the hardest natural substance on Earth, capable of cutting any rock or metal; only another diamond can cut it.
Diamonds naturally attract grease, making them challenging to keep clean. Oils from your fingers cling to the diamond's surface when handled, diminishing its brilliance and fire.
To keep your diamond jewelry sparkling, you can use our RG Jewelry Cleaner, or simply soak it in warm water with mild dish soapwhen it needs a cleaning. After soaking, use a soft, clean toothbrush to remove any remaining dirt, especially from hard-to-reach areas like the back of the diamond. Reserve the toothbrush exclusively for cleaning your jewelry.

"While our pieces are contemporary works, our craft is deeply rooted in the storied tradition of jewelry making. Each piece of jewelry we consciously create has its own identity — it tells its own story. Our collection takes inspiration from the old-world heritage while infusing it with timeless elegance." -Rachel Karcich, Founder
